Preventing risks: solutions are in nature
Climate change increases the exposure of our territories to natural risks (fires, floods, erosion of the coastline,...) and has irreversible consequences on nature and landscapes that further aggravate these risks. Come and discover that biodiversity offers many ways to anticipate, mitigate and avoid each type of risk exposure, in a more economical and sustainable way than heavy infrastructure, and that in the short term, inaction in the face of its erosion puts communities at risk of additional costs.
On May 07 in Gémenos, we talk about the risk of flooding and water management.
Civil engineering, used to protect property and people from flooding, is effective. However, due to the absence or poverty of biodiversity, it generally leads to an ecological "loss of value" and sometimes increases flooding. As part of integrated management, we are now seeking to consider all concerns in the reflection from the design phase of projects to reconcile safety and ecology through nature-based solutions. Come and discover, through concrete feedback and testimonies from elected officials, how to make preserved territory and project territory rhyme.

The training framework
ARPE ARB offers 4 days of training courses as part of a national programme implemented in 11 regions by RARE (Réseau des Agences Régionales de l'Energie et de l'Environnement) in partnership with the Agence Française de la Biodiversité et Régions de France. In the light of the next mandate projects, come and discover, through concrete feedback and testimonies from "Elected Ambassadors", how to make preserved territory and territory rhyme with projects.
