Urban monitoring Nature in the city and climate :

the continuation of the installation of sensors by ATMOSUD

Within the framework of the Nature For City Life (NFCL) project, ATMOSUD is implementing an action consisting of installing micro sensors to measure temperature, humidity, and the levels of ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2 ) and fine particles in the air.

These sensors will make it possible to produce data on the three metropolitan territories of the project, illustrating the services provided by nature in cities in terms of air quality and temperature for target audiences (citizens, elected representatives, technicians). The data produced will be available on the ATMOSUD and NFCL project websites.

18 sites have been identified by the three metropolitises Toulon Provence Méditerranée, Nice Côte d´Azur and Aix-Marseille-Provence and concern urban development projects or sites presenting nature issues in cities.

As of 1 October 2020, 7 sensors have been installed and 10 are in progress. In Nice, this will very soon make it possible to follow the data from the sensor in Place Malausséna, then from those being installed at Saint Peter's Church and the school in Carros.

In Aix-Marseille, visits to identify future installation sites will be able to resume after the containment period following the health crisis.
