The adaptation of our cities to climate change is a major challenge of the 21st century.
The Southern Region is strongly mobilized on this issue through its Climate Plan "Let's keep a COP ahead" adopted in 2021, its SRADDET adopted in 2019 and various schemes including "1 million trees planted in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region" with the "trees in the city" component.
Since 2017, the Region has been coordinating a project financed by the European Commission's LIFE programme on the development of nature in cities. This project, entitled Nature For City LIFE, involves the three regional metropolises, Aix-Marseille-Provence, Nice-Côte d'Azur and Toulon-Provence-Méditerranée, the City of Marseille, the University of Aix-Marseille and the associations AtmoSud and Bureau de Guides du GR2013.
Within the framework of this project, the Region is organising a European Forum on Nature in the City for adaptation to climate change, which will be held in two parts:
- Thursday 1st July by videoconference,
- in person in October at the Hôtel de Région in Marseille.
This forum will bring together experts, academics, local actors, elected officials, economic actors and associations, project leaders involved in these issues...
We count on your mobilization for this great event.
Soon on the website, the finalised programme and the registration procedures !
